Description}: The day had finally come. 'Your majesty, I present to you two crystal flowers, one for each of your daughters.' The court was in an uproar once the words were spoken and it took a while for the voices to calm down again. 'You came here as a man seeking employ and now you come as a woman seeking my daughters? Explain yourself, tutor!' The king was angry and confused. 'I am the witch Beatrix. I know the secret of the crystal flowers and I got them because I fell in love with your daughters. I want to marry them.' 'Father, this is how we want it.' Aurora said. 'She won fair and square, father.' Audrey added. 'What is this? Are you mad? This woman is a deceiver that tricked us all.' The king was confused by his daughters behavior. 'She told us who she was.' 'And then we asked her to win our challenge and make us hers.' 'Because we love her.' 'Because we love her.' 'But...' the king was at a loss for words. 'She won the challenge fairly.' 'And she won with honor.' 'So you must honor your promise too.' 'Yes, you promised on your honor that the winner would marry one of us.' The king was unable to argue. 'To uphold my honor it seems I must. Which one of my daughters do you wish to marry Beatrix?' 'I brought two flowers your majesty, so I claim both your twin daughters as wives.' The court erupted into chaos again and it took even longer too calm down this time. Aurora and Audrey had meanwhile taken up position to the left and right of Beatrix and holding her close. 'It is our wish father.' 'Yes, it is our wish.' There was nothing the king could do unless he was willing to hurt his daughters' feelings and bring shame on his honor, for he had given his word. So he gave in to the inevitable. It wasn't unheard of for three people to marry by the holy rites. Not even for three women to marry. It was rare, yes, scandalous, sure, but not unheard of. The gods allowed it, so so would the king. Before the day was over the witch and her twin princesses were married by the king himself. Grudgingly but also a little happy to see his daughters so pleased with the marriage. The princesses decided to travel the world alongside their witch instead of staying in the castle with her and all three set off towards new adventures. They may have lived happily ever after, but this is just the beginning of the tale of the clever witch and her mischievous twin princess brides. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Last page for the moment and a happy end.
