Description}: Many a day had Kristen wanted to meet the giraffe up close, coming with her mother, Karen the zoo-keeper, to the animal park often. When she asked, her mother would just say "not today", humoring the little girl. Eventually she tired of waiting, and saw no reason why she couldn't scale the fence and go have a nice conversation with the animals herself. That day Karen learned not to make light of matters in which her daughter might take her seriously. And Kristen learned that signs were meant to be obeyed.
